PERI URBAN COUNCILS WELCOME NEW CABINET
Peri Urban Councils Victoria (PUCV) have welcomed the announcment of the Hon. Jacinta Allan MP's Cabinet, saying it looks forward to working closely with the new frontbench to advocate for a better deal for Victoria's fast-growing fringe.
PUCV Chair Cr Michael Leaney said “Peri Urban Councils Victoria looks forward to having productive dialogue and a good working relationship with the new Allan Cabinet to address the pressing issues caused by rapid population growth across the fast-growing peri urban council areas."
"We need to set up the peri urban region for a bright, liveable and sustainable future and this requires a strong partnership with the State Government,” he explained.
The new ministerial portfolios include:

“Peri urban communities are highly desirable places to live so of course new residents are flocking to our shires to get a slice of a lifestyle that provides a better balance,” Cr Leaney explained.
“PUCV will be actively advocating to Premier Allan’s new ministry to advise that our area needs proactive and timely investment to manage urban sprawl and maintain the lifestyle and unique character of these growing communities that people love,” Cr Leaney added.
PUCV Chair Cr Michael Leaney also acknowledged the service of former Victorian Premier the Hon. Daniel Andrews MP and thanked him for his contribution both as Premier and Member for Mulgrave.
