A special thank-you from Moorabool

Peri urban communities were front and centre of the federal election campaign earlier this year with our member municipalities receiving welcome promises of funding.

Among them was Moorabool Shire Council.

On the campaign trail, Member for Ballarat and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government Catherine King committed $25 million to the Moorabool Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

So during our most recent delegation to Canberra, our Chair and Moorabool Councillor Moira Berry donned goggles, floaties and a swim hat to say thank-you to Minister King.

In doing so, Cr Berry brought a little of her community’s enthusiasm for the new centre to Parliament House and thanked the minister unlike anyone else.
