PUCV welcomes new Chair

Peri Urban Councils Victoria (PUCV) have welcomed a new Chair with Cr Moira Berry of Moorabool Shire Council elected to the role.

The appointment of a new Chair follows Cr Brett Tessari’s decision to step down from the role as he has been nominated as the National Party candidate for the Seat of Bass in the forthcoming Victorian state election.

Cr Berry said “I look forward to championing the cause of the peri urban communities; in particular to advocate for infrastructure and services to support what are some of the fastest growing local government areas in the country.”

Cr Berry paid tribute to outgoing Chair Cr Brett Tessari and thanked him for his tireless work to raise the profile of the issues in the region.

PUCV aims to deliver a better balance for Victoria’s fast-growing fringe suburbs immediately adjacent to metro Melbourne and Geelong.

Cr Berry is a passionate and active councillor for the Moorabool Shire who also retains a position on the Board of Bacchus Marsh Grammar School, is a small business owner and proud volunteer with many local community groups.
